Amr ibn Salim al-Khuza'i

Amr ibn Salim al-Khuza'i was a distinguished companion (Sahabi) of the Prophet Muhammad and a prominent poet and leader of the Banu Khuza'ah tribe during the early Islamic era. He is historically renowned for his pivotal role in the Conquest of Mecca. Following the violation of the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah by the Quraysh and their allies, the Banu Bakr, who launched a surprise attack on his tribe, Amr traveled to Medina to seek the Prophet's intervention. He recited a stirring and influential poem beginning with "O Allah, I am appealing to Muhammad," which moved the Prophet to declare, "You have been supported, O Amr ibn Salim." This event directly led to the Prophet's march to liberate Mecca in 8 AH. Amr is remembered for his unwavering loyalty, his leadership as a standard-bearer during the conquest, and his poetic contributions to early Islamic history.
